In 2018, Lanzini & Sons restored vandal-damaged exterior marble sculpture at St. Moses the Black in Detroit, Michigan. Hands and a crown had been deliberately destroyed.

Repairing the broken forms
The damage extended into the forearms as well as the hands.

For this exterior statue restoration, we carved a new set of replacement hands and a new crown, then attached the parts to the surviving sculpture.
Carved replacement parts were also part of our Holy Trinity project in El Dorado Hills. There, we restored a marble statue of Mary and carved replacement arms for Jesus on the small crucifix she holds.
Project location: St. Moses the Black, 1125 Oakman Boulevard, Detroit, MI 48238.
For damaged exterior sculpture, send an overall photograph and close views of the broken or missing areas, along with its location and any known repair history.
