We welcome public-art and historic-restoration projects, including work outside churches. An inquiry can concern sculpture, paintings, murals or decorative finishes. The material, condition, setting and owner’s goals determine whether a project is a fit.
Understand the work before defining treatment
Known history and previous repairs help explain what is present. Full views show the work in its setting; close photographs record damage, wear or changing conditions. Access, public use and the responsibilities of the owner or institution also affect the scope.
Cleaning, repair, stabilization and finish work are different decisions. The appropriate approach may require further examination or specialist input, depending on the material and significance of the work.
Related restoration experience
Our work includes repair of damaged exterior marble sculpture in Detroit and restoration of canvas murals at Sacramento Cathedral. In Castroville, we removed graffiti and selectively repaired an older painting by Angelo Lanzini. These projects show particular restoration work in church settings; a public or historic commission is reviewed on its own requirements.
